Our Carers provide support with the basics of everyday living but also have the training and experience to support those living with specific health conditions such as Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s. Carers are also experienced in supporting successful transitions between home and other facilities such as hospitals, respite facilities and more.

What is respite care and how can it help family Carers?

Often, a family member or friend cares for an ageing loved one, but performing this role can add stress and pressure on the family relationships. Respite Care is temporary or hourly care designed to give family Carers a much needed break so they can take care of other priorities in their life and prevent burnout.

Home Care Assistance Carers provide excellent help at home. Can they assist in locations besides seniors’ home residence?

Yes. We can visit people anywhere they need care. During hospital stays, our hospital care team can provide around-the-clock companionship and monitoring for safety.

Many residents of Aged Care facilities also hire Home Care Assistance Carers to provide the personal one- to-one attention they deserve.

What happens if the assigned Carer is sick and can’t work?

If your Carer becomes ill or is unable to keep the scheduled visit, our staffing team will work to find you a qualified substitute carer for that time.

Do you have a service contract I have to sign?

There’s no service contract with Home Care Assistance. That means you can use our services for as little or as long as you need and with 100% satisfaction.

How does Home Care Assistance screen and hire Carers?

Home Care Assistance interviews 25 Carers for every one Carer that we hire. We start by requiring a minimum of two years of verifiable experience with excellent references.

Next, we conduct thorough background checks including local and national criminal records, driving record checks and verify eligibility for employment.

Home Care Assistance Carers are covered by workers’ compensation insurance.

How do you supervise Carers?

You don’t just hire a carer. You work with a full Care Team to ensure the highest standards of care are met. Before beginning home care services, the care team creates a schedule and a plan that covers all aspects of appropriate care, and the Carer is fully briefed on the plan. A Client Care Manager will also make regular Quality Assurance visits to ensure the quality of care is exceptional and make changes as needed.

Government programmes such as Home Care Packages, NDIS, and the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) can help fund aged care support at home assistance. Please note that there may be a gap and a small contribution to pay, as the Australian Government may not fund the programme's total cost.

My husband had two major strokes 6 years ago which turned our lives upside down over night. two years ago we were given the opportunity to look for a provider to help us make life easier at home for... my husband. I have changed the company who provided care for my mother to Home Care Assistance who are based at the Gold Coast. With the previous company I had 40 different carers over 3 years and now have the... same carer 5 days a week. My mother was with the same big company for 20 years. I requested they send the same carer on certain days but really did not care about my mothers or my needs. When someone is blind and deaf they do not need a carer coming into the house who has not been here before.The carers with Home Care Assistance are paid a better hourly rate than the previous company and their admin costs are far cheaper and now saving $600 a month which can now give me more hours.If you have elderly parents looking to change from the BIG providers give them a call.
